8240xl care, feedingMy 8240xl is 30 mo old. Its original blades still give a reasonably close shave. Caveat: my beard is not coarse/hard-to-cut. Steps below *do* seem to keep the unit working well.
1. Daily, pre-shave: wash face, apply rubbing alcohol.
1. Daily, post-shave: open, then rinse blade assembly with near-boiling water.
2. Weekly thorough cleaning: take apart blade assembly for boiling water + brush cleaning,
follow with lubrication blast using Remington Shaver Saver.
3. Bi-weekly, run 8240xl until battery cuts out, then fully recharge.
Hoping the 8240xl will run another 30 months.
