Optimus 50040 Shaver Review
Ordered this shaver and as usual with Amazon service, it arrived promptly.

Pros: Not a bad product for the money. Although the body seems flimsy, it offers a decent shave.

Cons: Unit has a NiCad battery. Had I known this I wouldn't have ordered this model. I had no idea anyone was still using these batteries. On top of that, it has a light that illuminates only during charging, but never goes out when charged.(Literature confirms this). Because of the NiCad battery, if you don't let it run down, it will develop memory problems and shorten its life, so you must wait until it runs down in the middle of a shave and will take 8 hours to re-charge. Again, literature says this.

Good for the money!
please read directions carefully. charge for 12 hours when you first receive it. for example the power cord must be kept unplugged when not in use. that helps to save the battery and cord from going bad prematurely. the cord has an adapter built into it to convert from from 115v to 3vdc i think. the top of the razor does not pop off. it is hinged and it tilts back to allow access to everything that is in the top cap. i enjoyed the shaves i have gotten so far with this razor. i don't know how long it will last but it has a two year warranty. it has 3 floating heads. i needed a razor so i bought it and i'm very happy with it so far. will update more later on. it says just to use it for facial hair. it shaved my face in very little time.

FEEBLE SOUNDING MOTOR - CUTS POORLY
The motor sounds feeble even when using AC Power.
It does a poor job cutting one day's growth. With
a two day growth, it bogs down with the slightest
pressure. I have never used it on battery power -

from a source other than Amazon - It was marked
